Asphalt Overlay Project Beginning Apr. 17, crews will begin improving 40 pedestrian ramps and replacing 5,600-feet of guardrail along US Hwy 6. These activities are part of a 2-month paving overlay project that will improve three areas (please see the link for a color-coded map):1. US Hwy 6 from just west of Storm King Drive to the CO-82 intersection (green)2. Midland Avenue from Devereux Road to Eighth Street (red)3. The downtown detour squareabout route (purple)Crews are scheduled to begin paving the US Hwy 6 corridor in May. Stay tuned for an updated schedule and traffic impacts associated with this work.
Beginning the week of May 8 through approximately May 19, some areas of US Hwy 6 will be in an alternating one-lane configuration while crews pave the highway. Traffic control will maintain two lanes when possible. Fifteen-minute delays are anticipated from 6 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Friday. Temporary traffic holds are anticipated on side streets. Business access will be maintained during this time, with a brief hold in front of each business as crews lay new asphalt. Pedestrian access is maintained on sidewalks along US Hwy 6.
Downtown OverlayNinth Street Closures 5/22 to 5/25: 8 PM to 6 AM
Crews will close Ninth Street from Colorado to Grand avenues and Cooper to Grand avenues.Eighth Street Closures 5/30 to 6/2: 8 PM to 6 AM
Crews will close Eighth Street from Colorado to Grand avenues and Cooper to Grand avenues.Motorists are advised to follow detour signage during these closures.Midland Avenue Overlay (Upcoming)Once downtown paving is complete, crews will pave 1.5-inches of asphalt on Midland Avenue from the intersection of Devereux Road to Eighth Street. Paving overlay operations are scheduled for one week. Midland Avenue will be in an alternating one-lane configuration during this time. Fifteen-minute delays are anticipated from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
I-70 Exit 116 Eastbound On-ramp Closures (Through June)The I-70 Exit 116 on-ramp will be CLOSED from 5:30 AM to 9:30 AM, Monday through Friday. Motorists are advised to use westbound I-70 to Exit 114 and turn around at the interchange.

The Exit 116 interchange will be in a one-lane configuration as crews work on a storm drain across Grand Avenue. Flaggers will be in the area directing traffic.I-70 Exit 114 Roundabout Work (Through June)The I-70 Exit 114 roundabout work continues. Morning delays are anticipated in the Exit 114 interchange. Metering will take place during the morning peak travel hours.
