City of Glenwood Springs files motion to intervene in quarry lawsuit

The City of Glenwood Springs has filed a motion to intervene in Rocky Mountain Resources’ (RMR) lawsuit against Garfield County government that is currently before state court in Garfield County.

RMR’s lawsuit alleges that Garfield County has no regulatory authority over operations at its Mid-Continent Quarry, located just a half mile from Glenwood Springs city limits, because the federal government also regulates the site.

Christmas tree drop-off site now open

The Christmas tree drop-off site is now open until January 31 at the old rodeo grounds on Airport Road.

The City asks residents to follow the following regulations:

  • Christmas trees only
  • No yard debris
  • Remove all tassels, lights, and ornaments from trees
  • No trash or plastic

The site will be open from December 31, 2019 to January 31, 2020.
