[ARCHIVED] Volunteer for a Position on a City Board or Commission

The City of Glenwood Springs is looking for volunteers who have a few hours to give to a city Board or Commission each month. Applications are to be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office by January 27, 2017.


IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN…

REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS ON BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS

 

Do you have just a few hours a month to contribute to your community?  During this annual drive for volunteers, the City of Glenwood Springs is looking for applicants to fill vacancies and expired terms on various boards and commissions. 

From sitting in quasi-judicial capacities hearing land use applications, to making recommendations regarding budgeting, grant funds, trails, parks, recreation, housing, transportation, and compensation to victims of crimes, these boards and commissions could use your help:

 

Airport Board – Four regular seats with terms to expire February, 2020.

 

Building Board of Appeals – Two regular seats and one alternate seat with terms to expire February, 2020.

 

Financial Advisory Board – Two regular seats with terms to expire February, 2020.

 

Historic Preservation Commission – Four regular seats terms to expire February, 2020.

 

Parks and Recreation Commission – One regular seat and one alternate seat with terms to expire February, 2020.

 

Planning and Zoning Commission – Two regular seats with terms to expire February, 2020.

 

River Commission – Four regular seats with terms to expire February, 2020.

 

Tourism Promotion BoardTwo seats representing tourism with terms to expire February, 2020.

 

Transportation Commission – One regular seat with term to expire February, 2020.


Victim’s and Witnesses Assistance and Law Enforcement Board (VALE) – One alternate seat with term to expire February, 2020.

 

Volunteer Firefighter Pension Board – Two regular seats with terms to expire February, 2020.

The powers and duties for each of the Boards and Commissions are included on the applications which can be found on the City’s website at http://www.cogs.us/101/Leadership

Applications should be submitted by email to the City Clerk’s office by 5:00 p.m. on January 27, 2016.
