City of Glenwood Springs officials invite the public to join them in opening the 14th Street Pedestrian Bridge to foot and bicycle traffic.

On Feb. 16 at 1pm, the City of Glenwood Springs will host a ribbon cutting at the Pedestrian Bridge with its funding partners. The 14th Street Pedestrian Bridge crosses the Roaring Fork River between 14th and 15th Street. The city received a $350,000 Garfield County Federal Mineral Lease District grant for this project.

The 14th Street Pedestrian Bridge will provide residents of neighborhoods across the river with a safe and efficient bike/pedestrian crossing for use during the Grand Avenue Bridge detour and beyond. The expected completion of the project, including lighting and landscaping, will be late Spring/Early Summer 2017.

Parking in the area is limited, and attendees are asked to park on Pitkin Avenue on the east side of the pedestrian bridge.
