The final day of operations for the recycle center at 1015 School Street will be Saturday, February 25, 2017. Existing recycling facilities at the South Canyon Landfill, located at 1205 County Road 134, will be expanded starting March 1. The recycle bins at the School Street recycle center will be relocated to the South Canyon Landfill, west of Glenwood Springs.
To access the landfill from Glenwood Springs, take Interstate 70 west to Exit 111. Take Exit 111 toward South Canyon, and turn left onto County Road 134. The landfill entrance is 1.3 miles from Exit 111.
The recycling center at the landfill will accept E-waste, glass bottles, plastics No. 1-7, newspapers, junk mail, cardboard and slick paper products. Following the move, hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
