Monday July 24, from 8 PM to 6 AM, all westbound I-70 traffic will be detoured via a break-in-barrier at east Sixth Street to the Exit 116 interchange. The Grand Avenue Bridge will be closed during this time.
From Tuesday (7/25) to Friday (7/28), I-70 (both directions) will detour from 8 PM to 6AM. The Grand Avenue Bridge will be closed during these detours. Eastbound traffic leaving the interstate for Glenwood Springs or Aspen should exit at 114. Westbound traffic will exit 116 and take Midland Avenue.
Westbound exit 116 off ramp will be closed from 9 AM Tues (7/25) until early Thurs (7/27). Please use exit 114 instead.
Eastbound exit 116 off ramp will be closed from 5:30 AM to 9:30 AM, Mon (7/24) through Fri (7/28). Use exit 114 as an alternative.
Additional Roadwork
July 7 – 31: Glenwood Springs Elementary utility work within Pitkin Avenue and School Street. Expect detours and delays.
July 11 – 31: Full closure of Donegan Road East of Sunny Acres Drive and West of Highlands Drive for utility installations associated with the Oasis Creek Apartments. The depths and locations of utilities require a full closure to the public. Detour route is provided at Soccer Field Road.
July 24 – 25: Rolling one-lane closures of Donegan Road and Devereux Road for fog sealing maintenance operations ahead of the Grand Avenue Bridge Closure. Expect delays 7 a.m. through 5 p.m.
July 24 – 29: Painting operations to take place on Blake Avenue, Pitkin Avenue, Donegan Road, and Devereux Road. Parking may be limited on Blake Avenue and Pitkin Avenue during the painting operations. Specific dates and information will be available on the city’s website, at cogs.us, before July 24. Expect delays 7 a.m. through 5 p.m.
