[ARCHIVED] Important Safety Message from Chief Wilson

Halloween safety graphic featuring kid in ghost costume

Drivers: If you are driving on Halloween night (10/31), please take it slow and be extra aware of pedestrians. Stay on the Grand Avenue detour route, and off of side streets like Blake, Cooper, and Bennett. Avoid distracted driving (no texting)!

Parents: Please accompany your children while they are out in the neighborhoods trick-or-treating, even if you think they are old enough to go alone. We have a lot of extra traffic trying to shortcut the detour, and they are not always the most cautious folks.

Kids: Make yourself visible to cars by carrying a flashlight and attaching a light or glow stick to your costume.

Everyone: Come out to the Glenwood Springs Community Center for their Halloween SPOOKtacular. It runs from 4-7 pm, and will feature candy, games, inflatables, and more!
