Inventory and retrieval of the former 7th Street memorial bricks that was originally scheduled for later in September 2018 will not take place. City Council is looking at ways to use the bricks in a future plaza area.
The memorial bricks from 7th Street and the current under bridge areas were removed for construction plans of the new Grand Avenue Bridge. The majority of the memorial bricks were not damaged and have been put into storage. The City is working on a reuse plan for the bricks that will be announced sometime in the future.
City staff had originally planned to provide retrieval information the second week of September.
