- It is anticipated that ongoing lane closures on the 27th Street Bridge will extend from the normal off-peak through the afternoon peak this afternoon. Delays anticipated. Please allow extra travel time through the area and do not block intersections. This lane closures are for critical path concrete work.
- Additionally, beginning at approximately 8 p.m., S. Grand Ave between 27th St. and the Penrose Plaza entrance (in front of ANB Bank) will be temporarily closed until the early hours of the morning for utility work. Business and pedestrian access remains open via 23rd Street. See map below.
Reminder: Night closures of 27th Street Bridge and S. Grand Avenue Intersection scheduled for June 25 & 26
27th Street Bridge, S. Grand Ave. intersection to be closed nightly on June 25 & 26 beginning at 8 p.m. for pedestrian bridge water line work
27th Street Bridge construction crews are scheduled to lower a new water line into the S. Grand Ave. intersection on Tuesday, June 25 and Wednesday, June 26. To compete this work, night closures in the area will be required. At approximately 8 p.m. each evening, the 27th Street Bridge and the intersection of S. Grand Ave. and 27th Street will close until the early hours of the morning. Water service interruptions are not anticipated.
During closures, 27th Street Bridge traffic will be detoured via 8th Street. S. Grand Avenue motorists will be redirected via Colorado Highway 82. Local business and residential access will remain open.
In preparation for the waterline work, crews are continuing current project operations. The dates of the night closures are contingent on the completion on several work items and weather. Any changes to the schedule will be announced via ConeZone.
CHANGE TO CONSTRUCTION HOURS AND LANE CLOSURES:
With schools out on summer vacation, crews will be allowed to keep lane closures up from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. daily. To maximize the progress, crews will access the site as early as sunup to begin daily operations and will continue work as late as 9 p.m.
Weekend work on Saturdays and Sundays and night work operations are anticipated to be more frequent. Scheduled night work will be announced via ConeZone updates.
