UPDATED: September 4-11: Night Work and 24/7 Lane Closures on Bridge
Crews are working on utility construction and preparation work for the bridge slide every night, 8 PM-6 AM, including Saturday and Sunday beginning September 4 through Wednesday, September 11. Expect construction noise and lights during the night.
Beginning at 6 PM on Thursday, September 5 through Wednesday, September 11, motorists should plan for lane closures on the bridge and alternating one-way traffic at all times (24-hrs daily), including during the peak travel periods. Delays are anticipated. Please plan extra travel time.

27th Street Bridge 84-Hour Closure

The bridge slide is currently scheduled to occur beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12.
The 27th Street Bridge, S. Grand Ave. intersection, Atkinson Trail and the Roaring Fork River is scheduled close at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 and remain closed through the weekend. Crews will be working through the night all weekend. Expect heavy construction machinery and large lights at night. The new bridge is scheduled to open to traffic at 6 a.m. on Mon., Sept. 16. This is weather dependent. Any changes to the schedule will be updated via ConeZone.
- The 27th Street traffic detour will be via 8th Street during the closure period.
- During the closure, there is no through river access at 27th Street. All river users must eddy-out at or before 3-Mile Creek or put-in downstream of the 27th Street Bridge. Call before you float to hear the latest river status, 618-5379.
- During this closure, there will be no pedestrian access at 27th Street. The pedestrian and bicyclist detours for 27th Street Bridge and Atkinson Trail are via the Old Cardiff Bridge or via the 14th Street Bridge.
