Good news! Crews reopened 27th Street Bridge to all directions of traffic just before 4 PM today, Thursday, December 19. The roundabout including the S. Grand Ave. legs and the mountable truck apron are also open.
For the remainder of the project, through January, motorists should anticipate off-peak intermittent lane closures with alternating one-way traffic on the bridge and on S. Grand Ave.
Remaining work includes sidewalk connections for the pedestrian bridge, construction of a few minor walls, a guardrail replacement, wall facades, some drainage work, landscaping, and wall coatings. The walls and guardrail replacement will be completed in January 2020 with alternating lanes of traffic in the middle of the day. The rest of the work is outside of the roadway platform.
