[ARCHIVED] Black Hills Energy work in South Park neighborhood

Black Hills Energy will be locating and replacing their natural gas main and service lines in the South Park neighborhood this year.

A Black Hills contractor has already begun knocking on doors to determine existing meter locations and options for relocating lines and meters with the replacement project. Many pipelines and meters are located in residential backyards making them difficult to access for maintenance and emergency services. Since the main pipeline has reached the end of its useful life and will be replaced, Black Hills will use this opportunity to relocate those facilities as well.

Black Hills is anticipating construction from April to September 2020 but the work is weather dependent and final dates are still being determined. Preliminary work has also begun with Badger Daylighting, a contractor who will be potholing the existing utility main lines in the neighborhood and should be complete by the end of February 2020.

Impacted residents should have received a letter in the mail and will likely receive another letter from Black Hills Energy with more information on their project and schedule.
