[ARCHIVED] City facility closures today (Feb. 6)

City Hall and the Community Center are now closed for the day. Tonight's City Council meeting is cancelled.

Due to the weather forecast and poor driving conditions, many city facilities are closing early today, February 6. All non-essential services will be officially closed at 2 PM.

  • City Hall will be closed at 2 PM and the regularly scheduled City Council meeting for tonight is cancelled
  • Community Center will be closed at 12 PM
    • The Silver Prom scheduled for tonight at the Community Center has been cancelled
  • South Canyon Landfill and Recycle Center will remain OPEN for normal business hours

The current storm is expected to be in the Glenwood Springs area through tomorrow afternoon (Friday, Feb. 7). City crews are working in shifts to clear all roadways as quickly as possible. Snow tires and extra travel time are highly recommended as low temperatures are creating several icy sections throughout town. Please watch for plow trucks and equipment as crews work to maintain City streets.

Keeping main roadways clear is currently the priority of our plowing crews. Crews are getting to residential side streets once the main roads are cleared but have to quickly return to main roads as snow is quickly accumulating. Please stay safe and use extra caution this evening.

Stay warm and be safe!
