[ARCHIVED] Glenwood Springs to Host Community Conversation on June 30

Glenwood Springs, CO – The City of Glenwood Springs will host a virtual Town Hall Community Conversation at 5:30pm on Tuesday, June 30. To register in advance go to: cogs.us/townhall

The purpose of the meeting is to listen and better understand community questions as Glenwood Springs seeks to balance public health and opening the economy. During the virtual Town Hall, Sara Brainard from Garfield Public Health, and Dr. David M. Brooks, Chief Medical Officer for Valley View Hospital, will provide a public health update. Other speakers will include:

  • Angie Anderson, Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association
  • Sumner Schachter from Imagine Glenwood
  • Beatriz Soto, Directora Defiende Nuestra Tierra for Wilderness Workshop
  • Steve Beckley, owner of the Iron Mountain Hot Springs and Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park
  • John Bosco - COO and Vice President, Hot Springs Pool
  • Erin Zalinski - owner, Treadz
  • Jonathan Godes – Glenwood Springs Mayor

In advance of the interactive town hall meeting, please visit www.gwscommunityconversations.com to provide input that will help shape the topics for the Town Hall conversation. We are soliciting ideas for balancing health and reopening the economy; how we might best communicate with visitors to our city; thoughts on specific policies and any other questions or comments. This virtual “bulletin board” will inform the agenda on Tuesday’s Town Hall.

There will also be a Question and Answer session during the town hall. Questions will be taken from participants on the phone and online.

During the event, individuals who choose to participate on the phone will be able to “raise their hand” to ask a question by pressing *3 on their phone.
