Gould Construction are working on project mobilization, necessary tree removal, and land surveying along South Midland Ave. Trees in poor health or with conflicts will be removed from the right-of-way throughout the corridor including near Hagar Lane and 3 Mile Road. Trees are being removed now, before birds nest, to comply with the migratory bird act.
Motorists should anticipate delays and alternating single-lane closures Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays between 9 a.m-3 p.m. and Wednesdays between 9 a.m. – 2 p.m*. Additionally, South Midland and Black Hills Energy crews may be working with lane closures in separate locations. When Black Hills Energy and South Midland construction activities are close together, these lane closure will be combined into a continuous closure area. Please go slow for the cone zone and follow traffic control signage.
HOLIDAY HOURS
- *On December 23 and December 30, lane closures will continue until 3 p.m. while Roaring Fork School district is out for winter break.
- December 24: 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
- December 31: 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Beginning in January, construction crews expect to add Saturdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. to the regular work schedule with single-lane closures.
