The City of Glenwood Springs is offering landfill vouchers for the 2021 Spring Cleanup (limited to one per household). This is a proactive measure to limit employee-resident interactions to slow the potential spread, impacts, and damage of COVID-19.

Free vouchers to the South Canyon Landfill will be available for residents within City limits who need to dispose of debris over the next few months. Vouchers will be good for up to one personal sized pickup-truck load of non-hazardous materials and are limited to one per household. Vouchers can be requested by going to cogs.us/SpringCleanup and following the registration instructions. For assistance with voucher registration, please contact Sara Weigel at SpringCleanup@cogs.us or 970-384-6449.
The vouchers are not redeemable for cash and are only valid for the resident and address registered with the voucher. Face coverings are required at the landfill while outside of one’s vehicle.
Placing debris in any area of the City, including outside of your residence is prohibited and will not be collected. Those in violation of this ordinance are subject to a fine. Violations should be reported to the Police Department at 970-384-6500.
Acceptable Voucher materials include metal, wire, bicycles, wood, brush, appliances (no refrigerators), yard waste (not bagged). Other materials not covered by the voucher can be found on our Landfill webpage cogs.us/Landfill. These items can be paid for separately as part of a load.
A Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Paper Shredding Day is anticipated to be held in the fall. However, this is dependent upon COVID-19 restrictions at that time.
