South Midland crews are making good progress on the soil nail walls, utility work and hanging the wire mesh. The soil nail walls reinforce the soil and provide stability to the steep soil slope with bars (nails) installed into deep, pre-drilled holes. Then shotcrete (concrete technique) is applied to the face, to grout the reinforcing nails. In-stream work at Three Mile Creek for the new 18” water main is complete.
