24-Hour Flaggers Coming to Four Mile Road
Beginning this Wednesday, September 15, construction at the roundabout on South Midland will necessitate a change in the three-way stop configuration. For the next two weeks, traffic will alternate through single lane that is managed 24-hours a day by flaggers.
The first half of the new roundabout on South Midland has been graded and cured while other progress continues on the second half, including installation of a new storm drainage and utilities.

About the South Midland Reconstruction Project
The 18-month-long reconstruction project will better serve the South Glenwood Springs Community for years to come. The South Midland corridor had been prone to potholes, poor site lines, regular rockfall events, and there were gaps in pedestrian infrastructure amidst the backdrop of rising traffic volumes. Approximately one-third of Glenwood Springs residents use this corridor, so that is why it is critical to Keep South Midland Moving. Construction activities began in December 2020 and will continue through Summer 2022.
