ESPAÑOL: https://cogs.us/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=633

24-Hour Flaggers Coming to Four Mile Road

Beginning this Wednesday, September 15, construction at the roundabout on South Midland will necessitate a change in the three-way stop configuration. In addition to regular daytime lane closures on South Midland, there will be 24/7 single-lane flagging operation through the new roundabout intersection at Four Mile and South Midland for the next two weeks.

The first half of the new roundabout on South Midland has been graded and cured while other progress continues on the second half, including installation of a new storm drainage and utilities.

Ongoing Daytime Lane Closures

Regular daytime lane closures on South Midland continue to be Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; Wednesdays from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.; and Saturdays from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. These lane closures are mostly concentrated to the Park West neighborhood and south.

About the South Midland Reconstruction Project

The 18-month-long reconstruction project will better serve the South Glenwood Springs Community for years to come. The South Midland corridor had been prone to potholes, poor site lines, regular rockfall events, and there were gaps in pedestrian infrastructure amidst the backdrop of rising traffic volumes. Approximately one-third of Glenwood Springs residents use this corridor, so that is why it is critical to Keep South Midland Moving. Construction activities began in December 2020 and will continue through Summer 2022.
