The Garfield County Federal Mineral Lease District announced spring grant recipients this morning. Glenwood Springs received two grant awards totaling $375,000.
The City received a Traditional Grant Program award of $350,000 for the 14th Street Pedestrian Bridge project. The award will help fund the completion of the project, which included relocation of a section of the former Grand Avenue Pedestrian Bridge for use in connecting Midland Avenue to the Rio Grande Trail. According to Public Works Director Robin Millyard, the grant award ensures completion of the project during 2016.
The City also received an award from the Mini Grant Program. The grant provides the City and the Downtown Development Authority with $25,000 for improvements to the downtown planters.
