[ARCHIVED] South Midland Project Update – March 16, 2022

Keep South Midland Moving

Water tie-in work and extended hours on Friday, March 18

On Friday, March 18, South Midland construction crews will work from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. to complete a critical water main tie-in. Water will also be shut off at the Thunder River condos on Friday, March 18, during the water tie-in work. Crews will work on Saturday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

For the week of March 21, crews will be working until 4 p.m. each day while Sopris Elementary is not in session for spring break.

Traffic Impacts

  • Motorists can expect one-lane road closures on South Midland on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Extended hours and Sunday work will be noticed in advance.
  • Safety and minimizing impacts to residents and the traveling public are top project priorities. When closures are in place, the contractor is expected to keep two lanes open during peak travel times for most of the project and provide advanced notice for planned lane closures that extend outside of the regular operating hours.
  • Always plan for extra travel time through the area. Construction is dynamic and circumstances can change quickly and unexpectedly.
