Water tie-in work on the South Midland improvement project is now complete. The new waterline stretches 6,700-ft. from Hager Lane to Four Mile Road with an increased diameter of 18-in. from 12-in. The expanded capacity will boost the reliability of the water system in the Midland Corridor south of 27th Street. Other upcoming work includes curb and gutter, milling, and road base installation. Asphalt placement work is projected for May.
The South Midland improvement project is on schedule for completion by summer 2022. Until then and weather permitting, motorists can expect one-lane road closures on South Midland and delays on 27th Street on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Wednesdays from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. This project also requires occasional extended hours and Sunday work, notifications for which will be provided in advance.
Additional delays are possible April 15-17 when the old rodeo fairgrounds on Airport Road will be accepting brush drop-offs from Glenwood Springs residents
