DETAILS:

On 08/14/2022 at approximately 2155 hrs., Glenwood Springs Police Officers responded to a vehicle vs. bicyclist collision in the 2000 block of Grand Ave. It was reported that the male victim was breathing but unresponsive and the vehicle that struck the bicyclist had left the scene, failing to render aid or give information. 

 

Upon investigation, Officers learned the bicyclist was identified as a 50-year-old male Glenwood Springs resident who was transported to Valley View Hospital with serious bodily injuries. From witness statements, it was reported the male had crossed Grand Ave. westbound at 20th St. against a red light and was struck by a southbound vehicle who was positioned in the right lane. 

 

The hit & run vehicle was described as a midsize SUV (possible Subaru Crossover), unknown color with a square luggage hitch on the back.    


 The Glenwood Springs Police Department is seeking assistance in identifying the vehicle and driver of this accident. If you have any information, we encourage you to report this to Law Enforcement by calling 911 or our non-emergency line at 970-384-6500.
