Utility Billing Office Closed May 17

The Glenwood Springs Utility Billing office will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17 for staff training. In-person and phone assistance will not be available during the closure, but payments may still be made online or at the dropboxes.

27th Street Project Updates

The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) and contractor partner, Myers & Sons have begun construction on the 27th Street Underpass Project. The project impacts Colorado Highway 82 at the intersection of 27th Street. The work includes a reconfiguration of the Rio Grande Trail, drainage improvements and construction of two underpasses, one under 27th Street and the other under CO 82 to connect to the BRT station.

New Utility Billing System

The City of Glenwood Springs is excited to announce that we are upgrading our utility billing software! Beginning in June, water and electric customers will need to complete a one-time setup of an online customer profile on the new system. After your account is set up, you’ll be able to access an online portal with billing and payment information all in one convenient place.

Police Officer Felipe Gomez awarded as Law Enforcement Champion

Congratulations to Glenwood Springs Police Officer Felipe Gomez for being selected as the winner of a 2023 Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Law Enforcement Champion Award for his Outstanding Individual Dedication to Occupant Protection for law enforcement on the western slope. These awards focus on efforts to reduce impaired driving, increase the use of seat belts and reduce speeding.

Yard Waste Collection Site

Yard waste drop-off begins Saturday, May 20, and is available from 9 a.m. to noon at the old rodeo fairgrounds in south Glenwood by the airport. The yard waste drop-off area will be open every other Saturday with the last one being September 23. 

Accepted yard waste only includes mowed grass clippings, garden and planter waste, and branches smaller than 2-inches in diameter. NO dirt, construction waste, or plastic bags. This service is provided to City of Glenwood Springs residents only. Not for commercial use.

Trails Updates

• Lightning Bug and Tramway are reopened. 
• Trails on Red Mountain are open, but users should keep distance from any heavy equipment still in the area. 
• Upper Coal Camp remains closed for seasonal wildlife closures until May 16.
• Lower Grandstaff rebuild will tentatively take place starting May 15 for approximately 2 weeks.  
• West Wulfsohn Trailhead still closed due to mudslide with no estimate reopen date.

Glenwood Springs water customers can now tap into a new set of rebates on efficient water fixtures, appliances, sprinkler system equipment and irrigated turf removal.
